Invitation of
the Philippines Nuclear Power Generation Advanced Safety Technology Science Delegates
Presidential Decree EO 164 (signed on February 28, 2022) has been issued, deciding the country's
policy of including nuclear power in its energy mix plan. Under these circumstances, we invited a science
delegation to Japan with the aim of providing the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy, who is planning
to introduce nuclear power plants to the Philippines, and other relevant officials with an opportunity to
learn about state-of-the-art nuclear safety technology and get a sense of nuclear power generation.

〇Summary
The visited sites were Fukushima Daiichi
NPP, Onagawa NPP, a nuclear fuel manufacturing
company, Ibaraki Prefectural Science Museum, a
nuclear equipment manufacturer, a seismic research
institute and so on.
During the inspection of the Fukushima
Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, the delegates expressed
the view that radiation effects from the release of
ALPS processed water were much smaller than those
from natural radiation and that there were no
scientific problems.
The delegation expressed their high expectations for the Japanese government to continue its
cooperation in supporting the development of nuclear human resources and other infrastructure.
Through the invitation of the delegation, we were able to provide them with an opportunity to
understand the current status of the Fukushima Daiichi NPP and the advanced nuclear safety technology.
We have cooperated in supporting the
development of infrastructure for the
introduction of nuclear power generation in the
Philippines well. We have further deepened our
relationship for trust with organizations involved
in the introduction of nuclear power generation
in the Philippines.
